The purpose of this unit is piercing 1-1/2, 1-3/4, 2, 2-1/4, 2-1/2, 2-3/4 and 3 inch diameter, 18 gauge (.049 inch) and 16 gauge tubing for core elements. The standard core pattern produced is a spiral louver core (four louvers 90 degrees apart with a 20 degrees rotation and 1/2 inch pitch per index). Tooling for different tube diameters, wall thickness, or custom core patterns may also be made upon request.

All sequencing and indexing is accomplished by an independant pneumatic source and is automatically pierced, rotated, fed, and shut down upon completion using air logic, which requires 90PSI (pound per square inch) minimum shop air. The cutting blades are fabricated from heat treated tool steel for durability and wear resistance.

The piercing is accomplished hydraulically by three-phase, 20 horsepower and 10 GPM (gallons per minute) pump.
